Knot War

2024

“Everybody has a war within them, and if we can’t find ritualistic ways to express it, it comes out ugly. I know it so well because this was my home, this is where I come from. There was fire on top of the fire”.

Knot War, a site-specific dance performance, depicts a group of five dancers who take over a private house. The work unfolds across various rooms, with the audience invited to move between them, creating an immersive experience. The performance includes a collaboration with a Shibari artist, incorporating rope work in different spaces to convey personal and collective pain associated with war, particularly influenced by the October 7th conflict between Israel and Gaza.

The performance has been presented in various locations worldwide.
