Simulation Dance

Simulation Dance

In this consciousness-based movement practice, the surrounding environment is reimagined as part of a simulated reality. Through a guided process, players in Simulation Dance embrace the idea of reality as an imitation, and explore the possibilities of movement within this game.

The workshop unfolds step by step, culminating in a free dance session. No prior dance experience is required whatsoever.

This practice invites dance students to explore deep physical work and clarity of movement. Serving as an introduction to Yankalle Filtser's language, it combines free-form research with guided exercises.

The practice centers on fully committing to every physical action, allowing it to unfold and take the body to the extreme, while immersing in the action.

This work highlights specific elements such as engaging core muscles on the physical level; and using the inner dialogue on the consciousness level.

The workshop encourages a profound investment in every moment, uncovering the movement through focused, clear physicality.

Creation Workshop

This workshop offers dance students the opportunity to experience a creative process, like working on a professional project. The workshop simulates a real-world environment where participants engage hands-on as collaborative dancers, generating movement and supporting the artistic process.

The students have the opportunity to actively create, while receiving tailored guidance to deepen their understanding of creation.

This workshop equips dance students with specific tools for the professional world. It fosters an understanding of creativity as an intuitive and collaborative process.

Rope Practice

This workshop invites participants to explore the interplay between physical boundaries and creative surrender, drawing inspiration from the Japanese art of Shibari. Reimagined as a practice for dancers, the rope serves as a tool to push the body to its physical limits while cultivating a sense of giving in.

Rooted in the current creation process of the dance piece ‘Playing with Fire’, the workshop invites students to engage with rope work as a means to discover new possibilities in movement and sensation.

This workshop offers an exploratory environment while seeking to push the body to its limits, while expanding the boundaries of physical expression.

Repertory

Participants will engage with choreographic works, gaining insight into the creative process while developing a deeper understanding of the movement language. Students will connect to the essence of the material and apply it to their own development as dancers.

Every Body in Motion

This workshop is designed for those who feel they lack the skills, flexibility, or coordination to dance. In this session, fundamental concepts such as flow, groove, and intimacy in movement will be explored, to help participants discover their personal expression through dance.

The workshop invites everyone to embrace the pure joy of dance and give in to the moment, regardless of background or experience.
